New Puppy!

We got a new puppy!!!! While I've wanted a friend for Brody for quite sometime it was completely unplanned that we got a new puppy two weeks ago. He is such a wonderful addition to the family.

We were going to go grocery shopping and there were large kennels set up outside of Petsmart. A humane society from Texas was here with lots of dogs that needed loving homes. We walked around and said hi to all the dogs but we were drawn back to the puppies of course. And this little guy above squeezed through the fence and came running over to us, of course we had to take him home, we fell in love with him!! We named him Oliver, we have no idea what mix of breeds he is. He was 4.5 pounds when we got him. Brody and him are playing well, he's Brody's little shadow.

I've been working on a bunch of new pendants. I just sent a large batch to my mom in New York who sells my necklaces and I'm headed to Studio 1920 in Boulder this weekend to restock there display because it's pretty empty!

These skully necklaces are all going to Studio 1920. I also have some of my cute butterflies headed there too. Skulls and butterflies do the best there.

My grandma's birthday is in 2 weeks so I have to get working on what I'm going to make her! I haven't made her a new purse in awhile so I think I will make her a tote bag since she likes them the most and she shares my love of butterflies so I'm going to make her a new butterfly resin necklace. I have to get busy the next couple of days. I'm working on getting into a new boutique in Denver so I need to get busy making more products. Busy Busy, I wouldn't have it any other way!

I know it's a little early but I'm ready for Halloween!!! It's my favorite holiday and stores are starting to have a ton of Halloween things which just makes me wish it was here! I've made a few Halloween resin necklaces that have put in me in the mood even more :)

Pillowcase Bag

My mom asked me to make this pillowcase bag for her that she saw on Martha Stewart's website.
I'm happy with how it came out and I love the pillowcases that she sent. She sent 2 of these so I can make myself one too. I love the fabric and they are hibiscus, my favorite!
This is the pattern from Martha's website - it's really easy!

I am originally from NYC and moved to Colorado 4 years ago right after college. I'm currently residing in Denver with my boyfriend.

I love dogs! I have a jack russell/fox terrier mix named Brody. He is truly the best dog I have ever had! We just got 2 hermit crabs name Skittle & Scooter.
I am totally a big kid that will never grow up, I love toys. I'm still a lil punk rocker but I'm totally a girly girl. I love to dress up and put on makeup etc. I have 7 tattoos and still have a couple piercings left I haven't taken out.

Music - I listen to mostly punk rock or classic rock. My favorite band is Cooheed and Cambria. I also like AFi, Dredg, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Green Day, Rancid, The Offspring and many more.

Animals - penguins, piggies, octopus, pandas, snow leopards.

Colors - I love pink, blue, black, green and red. pink & green, pink & blue, pink & black, red & black.

Movies - Nightmare before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, Willie Wonka, pirates of the caribbean, Finding Nemo, & The Grinch.

TV - Grey's Anatomy, Law and Order SVU, America's Next Top Model, Intervention.

Flowers - Hibiscus & daisies.

Random - I like skulls & crossbones esp. girly ones, Ernie from Sesame Street but not Burt. I love Paul Frank, Skurvy and Ms. Skurvy are my fav but Julius is pretty cool too. I like pirates and piratey stuff. I love Kidrobot stuff - I collect the fatcaps and mongers mostly.
I love Hello Kitty, My Melody, Little Twin Starts and Badtz-Maru.

I also still like lotsa 80's things I grew up with like Thundercats, Snorks, Smurfs, Old Skool Nintendo, Atari, Ms. Packman, Centipede, and Tetris!

Crafts - I sew - mainly purses, coin purses or pillows. I work with polymer clay - mainly heart pendants, magnets & votives. Resin pendants, shrinky dinks & soaps. I'm always looking to do and learn new things.

Jewelry - My ears are pierced but they are stretched so I don't wear earrings only plugs. I love necklaces, rings and bracelets - I have small wrists they are 6". Slightly bigger is fine, but not too much.

I've been working on new resin pieces and I'm beginning to add new products to both www.luxielou.com and www.luxielou.etsy.com.

These are fun. I'm really happy with the way they came out. I've only tried them in blue and red so far. I may try some other colors in the future.

I've also perfected making my pendants with real dried flowers in them. I've been making them in red, pink, white and yellow but I'm pretty low on them right now. I'm hoping to make more later on this week.

I love Brody!
This is my little Jack Russell/Fox Terrier Mix. He's 3 and is the coolest dog I have ever had, super smart and loads of fun! He looks so wise with his little white beard.

He is a ball freak and can play fetch until your arm falls off.

I received some more great swap items in the mail this week. I love little crochet animals and objects but I don't crochet so I'm building my collection of toys through swaps!

I got these great piggies and ice cream cones...they are super cute!

I'm doing the Sweat Shop Swap once again on Craftster. This is my new favorite swap - there are so many talented people offering up lotsa awesome items. And who doesn't love receiving 10 different goodies in the mail?!

I offered up these polymer clay votives this round, each person receives 1 votive.

I've starting receiving my goodies in the mail and my favorite item so far is this amazing restful eye pillow from StacySews! It can be put in the the microwave or freezer.
